Local Backups Made Easy
There are a wide variety of backup utilities, each with their own particular nuances, features and limitations. There is Windows own backup and those that come with a particular external backup drive such as Iomega, Western Digital and the like. But most have limitations as to what you can back up to, the sources you can back up from, or the format in which the backup files are stored in.
Like most backup utilities No Hands Backup allows you to schedule backups. Unlike most others it allows you to access any drive that shows up on your network. On our local network backups are saved to an external hard drive connected to a USB port and shared on the server. Additionally, you can set up a portable drive such as a mini or flash drive to be recognized by No Hands upon connection to a USB port and have a backup commence upon connection. This makes redundancy particularly simple so you can easily have a copy of your data away from the office should the unthinkable happen.
No Hands also gives you the option of backing up files compressed or uncompressed. With the low cost and size of external drives these days it is convenient to store files uncompressed so they can be recovered with out using the application they were created in. You can download a 30 day trial at the NH Backup site and purchase a license for only $19.00.
