I got into graphic design kind of accidentally.
Basically, I'm a part of the Internet Generation. My parents are and were very tech-savvy, and my whole family shares the same view of new programs that allow you to manipulate images, sound, and other media: we go "ooh!" and treat them like new toys. So, essentially, I was brought up playing with my own digital creations, and kind of learned Photoshop and other programs like it as a matter of course.

OpenOffice.org Altgernative to Microsoft Office

OpenOffice 2.3 offers a FREE open source alternative to the pricey Microsoft Office Suite. The suite includes word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, vector-graphics, mathematical formula, and a solid database program. It runs on a variety of platforms including Linux, Windows, Solaris, and Mac OS X.
From Windows Vista to Windows XP Restore

Microsoft has come under a lot of pressure from system builders to extend the period they will be able to deliver new systems with Microsoft XP operating system installed rather than Windows Vista which became available to the general public January 31st of this year. Generally, the cut of date would be one year from the new OS release. It has now been extended to June 15, 2008.

The constantly evolving threats a personal computer is subject to requires a proven set of utilities that will prevent these threats including simple viruses, spyware, trojan horses, worms, and malware yet to be developed. There is a variety of competent security suites available all reasonably priced. While the differences between the many offerings seem to have diminished in recent years there are varying characteristics that warrant serious consideration.

Windows Vista Flavors

The current version of Microsoft's flagship operating system (OS) comes in five basic flavors: Home Basic, Home Premium, Business, Enterprise and Ultimate. Windows Vista is the latest in the Windows NT family of operating systems which includes Windows 2000 and Windows XP. As of this writing there are some applications that have difficulties with the new OS. Be sure to check with your software vendor before making the move.
